Overview

With drones, and their exclusive data capturing capabilities, the world is making use of its easy transportability in many commercial as well as public safety domains today. Drones can be used to incorporate Geographical Information System (GIS), which can produce a single visual output combining multiple layers of data into a meaningful output. Analysis between the drone location and other variables, such as temperature, sensor location, target location, latitude, longitude, mission ID so on and so forth.


Keeping in view the importance of GIS, VIDIZMO offers Geo-Spatial Data Analysis in its Digital Evidence Management (DEM) System. VIDIZMO achieves this functionality by allowing DEM users to either upload the Timed Data file in .vtt, .gpx or .srt format with video evidence or by uploading video evidence having Key Length Value (KLV) data embedded in it. Before you start

  • Only those users will be able to analyze the geospatial data, with whom the video evidence has been shared or they have the right to view it. To know more about it, see: Media Access Settings, Understanding Portal's Security Policy
  • KLV metadata within the stream or an external VTT file for KLV data must be uploaded within Timed Data settings to sync geospatial data against the video.


Analyzing Geospatial Data

1. From DEM Portal Homepage

i. Navigate to the evidence having geospatial data.

ii. Click on the evidence to analyze it.




2. On the Evidence Playback Page. 

i. Click on the Timed Data option available on the right-hand side of the screen, here, you will be able to view the GPS tracking of the target and tracking devices on a single screen. 

ii. Map Views: VIDIZMO uses Google Maps to help you in analyzing geospatial data. Here, you can view data in two different maps views;


a. Map: Clicking on Map will toggle you to the 2D Street View. This is the default map type. 

b. Satellite: Clicking on the Satellite, will display the satellite view (real-world pictures) of the map.


iii. Clicking on the square icon will toggle between full screen and normal screen views of the map.

iv. Checking the Sensor Location will display the trajectory of the drone (indicated with blue line on the map).

v. Checking Frame Center Location will display the trajectory of the target with an embedded sensor (indicated with the orange line). 

vi. Use these buttons to maximize or minimize locations on the map.

vii. Under the map, you will be able to see the export option. Click on it to export the KLV data associated with the video evidence at a particular timestamp (current playback time of the video) in CSV format.

viii. These fields are displaying the Timed Data at each latitude and longitude.
