Overview

In order to streamline application processes that affect portal's content purge policies, licensing terms, its renewal and expiry, statistical updates from database for analytics and tracking reports, etc. VIDIZMO consolidates all scheduled tasks in one single window to allow customers to configure policies as per their own organizational standards and requirements for enhanced ease.

VIDIZMO allows you to configure Scheduled Tasks settings using Application Configuration keys via Control Panel in your Portal. Here is how you can do this:

Before you start

To understand certain prerequisites, considerations and steps in order to configure application configuration keys, see: How to Update Application Configuration Keys in VIDIZMO

Configuring Scheduled Tasks Settings in VIDIZMO

You can configure the following in Scheduled Tasks section of Application Configuration:

License Manager Timer Interval

Here, you can define the polling time in minutes after which Scheduler service will expire licenses based on their defined expiry date-time settings. Rights to media can have From/To access settings along with expiry date and time, after which the rights to access that media are revoked by the service.

Content Delete Schedule

Here, you can define the timestamp when Scheduler service will start purging the (soft) deleted content every day. This is a 24 hour format value and should be supplied in [HH]:[MM] format. At the provided time, service will start purging content for all the portals one by one based on their purge policy.

Update Media Statistics

Here, you can define the polling time in minutes at which Scheduler service will start analyzing tracking data to generate analytics report on QoS, Demographics, Devices, Embedding, Heatmap as well as update stats for the media such as Unique Viewers, Views, Comments, Likes etc. Completions, Impressions etc. Shorter the duration more quickly you'll see the tracking data included in various reports and stats, however this also adds overhead of processing data at a faster rate. Recommended settings is 15 minutes, minimum is 1 minute.

Update Full Text Search Catalog Index

Here, you can define the time interval in minutes after which Scheduler service will reorganize the search catalog for any recent changes made to the data. Reorganizing search catalog reindexes the data and improves search results.

Update Search Lookup Statistics

Defines time interval in minutes at which Scheduler service will update the media stats such as likes, comments, views, favorites etc. that are displayed along with search results. Reducing interval would add processing overhead and therefore should be carefully calibrated. Recommended time is 60 minutes.

Update Tags Weightage

Time interval in minutes at which Scheduler service will update Tags weight for mashups, according to their usage. Tags weight is based on the number of occurences of that tag in published media

Update Active User Count

Defines interval in minutes after which Scheduler service will calculate number of active users in a given account. With this data, login process will determine the number of active users so far and therefore will start rejecting any new users who try to login after the limit meets/exceeds
