Why do you need DRM?

With the rising realization of how integral data is, its acquisition, exposure, integrity, and security has become of primary concern for organizations all around the world. Once the content is published on the internet, there are mechanisms to control access to it, one such mechanism is Digital Rights Management. It relies on implementation of licensing and authorization policies to make sure only the desired user base can unlock files and access content. It achieves this level of security through content encryption, by ensuring that users, who have the required key are able to decode it.

About DRM in VIDIZMO

Being an Enterprise Video Content Management System, VIDIZMO helps its customer organizations secure their content by implementing Digital Rights Management solution. VIDIZMO allows access policies for the content to be defined in the DRM license, to allow only specific audience to acquire the license and play the media back.

In a Portal where DRM has been enabled, whenever a viewer accesses content, the encrypted content will not play back unless the user acquires the license. Based on the user's request, the licensing server verifies if the user is authorized to view the content. Upon successful authorization, the player will receive the license and key to decrypt the content for the user to be able to play it back, otherwise the request to access content will be rejected. This enables the content to be exclusively accessible by only those who possess the authorized license.
