Understanding Content Formats

When we talk about media management in Enterprise Video Content Management industry, the format(s) in which the media is accepted by the system and the format(s) in which it is rendered after processing solely determines the content’s accessibility and quality. Due to this, content formats remain a growing concern for end-users as well as stakeholders when choosing the right EVCM for their organization. 

VIDIZMO offers its users high flexibility and extensibility within every aspect of the application.

Content Formats is also one such aspect, which define the various formats allowed on the portal for the content uploaded and in-use. These formats can be mapped to a specific media type, which lets VIDIZMO identify how they are supposed to be stored, processed and delivered. For example a content format for wmv file (extension) has 'video' as its 'media type'. This tells VIDIZMO that it has to be transcoded and will be played back in a player. However a content format with 'jpg' file (extension) is mapped onto an 'image', will not be transcoded and will be displayed in an image viewer.

Note: Content Formats can only be viewed and edited in VIDIZMO Application deployed on premise.

VIDIZMO features a list of all content formats allowed on VIDIZMO Portal for video content.

This list of content formats include details like type, extension of the file type and its MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) type. Following is the list of content formats that VIDIZMO offers by default:

Roles and Permissions

Only Administrators and Managers can view, edit and delete Content Formats on VIDIZMO Application deployed on premise.
