Overview

With an aim to offer an easy-to-use, highly customizable video management platform, not only does VIDIZMO enable customer organizations to have full control over the content being uploaded on their respective accounts and sub-portals, but also over how it is being uploaded. This includes control over various configuration parameters involved in the upload process that affect the speed, performance and efficiency of content delivery in the application system.

VIDIZMO allows you to configure Upload settings using Application Configuration keys via Control Panel in your Portal. Here is how you can do this:

Before you start

To understand steps in order to configure application configuration keys, see: How to Update Application Configuration Keys in VIDIZMO.

Configuring Upload Settings in VIDIZMO

You can configure the following in Upload section of Application Configuration:

Max File Size For Trial Account

Here, you can define the maximum file size that could be uploaded while using VIDIZMO's Trial account.

Allowed Retries On Failure

You may define the number of retries allowed for uploading a file upon encountering errors. If the upload still fails after the specified number of retries, the process gives up uploading the file.

Parallel Threads Allowed

You may also define the number of threads for each browser used to upload a file. Number of threads will directly affect the upload speed. The greater the threads, the faster the upload. However, allowing too many threads can be counter productive. Recommended thread limit is 4 for each browser. You can specify value for Chrome, Firefox or any other browser using General.

File Upload Chunk Size

Additionally, you can also define the size of a single chunk created when a content file is being uploaded to the storage provider. During upload (by user or backend service) the file is broken down into chunks and each chunk is uploaded through an individual thread. Increasing or decreasing the size of the chunk will directly affect the upload speed. Chunk size could be anything between 1 KB to 100 MB, however 4 MB is a recommended size for smooth upload.

File Upload Progress Retention Days

This key allows you to configure number of days for which a user can resume file upload process. After the specified number of days, the file upload progress will be cleared. The default value is set to be 60 days.
