Introduction 

 

The VIDIZMO Audio Indexer is a powerful tool that allows you to generate valuable audio related insights for both audio and video files. With this application, you have the flexibility to choose how you want to generate these insights. You can either generate them manually using the Process Modal for files in your Portal library, or you can opt for automatic processing, which generates insights automatically for compatible files that are added to your Portal.


Insights such as transcriptions or translations generated the VIDIZMO Audio Indexer utilize AI processing as a consumption metric. Visit Consumption Reports for SaaS Deployment Overview to learn how you can view and keep track of this metric.

 

Pre-requisites

  • A Moderator+ role is needed to process audio and video files present in your Portal’s library for AI insights. 
  • You must have the VIDIZMO Audio Indexer app configured, refer to Configuring VIDIZMO Audio Indexer for Insights for a complete guide to its settings.
  • As of now, the VIDIZMO Audio Indexer auto-detects the language in your audio or video for generating Transcriptions. When Translation is selected, it generates the English translation of the detected language. 

 

Generating Insights with Automatic Processing  

 

If Automatic Processing is turned on, the VIDIZMO Audio Indexer App will automatically process all eligible content that is entering or being created on your Portal. The following are the situations where automatic processing for transcription or translation is applicable.


  • When content is uploaded.
  • When content is ingested.

 

For a demonstration, let us see how you can upload content that will be automatically processed on a Portal. 


    1. Click the "Add Media" button to navigate to the Add New Media page.

    2. Select "Upload Media" to upload an audio or video file on which the transcriptions will be automatically generated according to the Audio Indexer App's configuration. 

 


    3. Edit the Media Settings of your uploaded file, and then click "Save and Close" or "Save" to add it to your Portal for processing.


 


    4. Once the file is processed, open it and click the "Transcription" icon to see the generated transcriptions on the transcription pane.

    5. If the VIDIZMO Audio Indexer also has "Translation" selected in its Insights, then it will also generate the English translations of the language it detects in the video. You can use the "Select Language" button switch between the "Translation" and "Transcription", and view them on the transcription pane. 



Note: If an audio or video file doesn't have any transcriptions, processing it with the Translation Insight generates the English translations, regardless of the spoken language in it. Portal content that already has transcriptions, either from another indexing application or the user uploading a .vtt file, can still be processed for the English translations.


Generating Insights with On-Demand Processing 


In addition to automatic processing, Insights such as transcriptions can also be generated for through on-demand AI processing. Users can perform on-demand processing on their Portal in the following ways. 

 

On-Demand Processing During Upload


You can translate or transcribe a video or audio file while uploading it using Custom Settings. Users who are Manager+ can activate this option by going to Upload Settings, which is present under Library in your Portal Settings. For more information, please refer to How to Custom Upload Media. 

 

    1. When Custom Upload is enabled, EVCM users get access to the Process Tab in their Media Settings where they can select options to process the files during upload. DEMS users get "Custom Settings Upload" instead of the default "Upload Evidence" as an option to upload files.

    2. Once you have chosen a file for upload, navigate to the Process Tab and select "Generate AI Insights."  

    3. Next, add "Transcription" or "Translation" under Insights.

    4. Save your settings and initiate the processing by clicking "Save". 

 


On-Demand Processing from the Process Modal


    1. To generate on-demand transcriptions for any audio or video on your Portal's library, select "Process" from the overflow menu. You can also create transcripts for multiple files (in bulk) by selecting them and then clicking Process from the header menu.


 

    2. On the Process Modal, select "Generate AI Insights" to display transcribing options.  

    3. Add “Transcription" or "Translation" to Insights tab.

    4. Click "Start" to begin the processing. 

 


 

Generating On-Demand Insights using Studio Space


    1. Select the audio or video file you want to generate Insights for. To open it in Studio Space, click the “Studio Space” option on its overflow menu or from the header menu. 



2. Once your file is open in Studio Space, click the “Generate Transcription” button to process your file for transcriptions. If you have added "Translation" to the VIDIZMO Audio Indexer's Insights, this button will generate the English transcriptions instead.



3. After the processing, the transcriptions or translations for your video will be shown on the right pane.
