Overview

This document explains the process of creating and configuring ARM-based Azure Video Analyzer (formerly Video Indexer). 

You can create a Video Analyzer for Media ARM-based account through one of the following: 

  • Video Analyzer for Media portal 

  • Azure portal 

  • QuickStart ARM template 

Prerequisites for connecting Azure

Here is the list of prerequisites needed to connect Microsoft Azure cloud. 

  • An Azure subscription. 

  • An Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) domain. 

  • A user-assigned managed identity. 

Note: You'll need an Azure subscription where you have access to both the Contributor role and the User Access Administrator role to the resource group under which you will create added resources, and Contributor role on both Azure Media Services and the User-assigned managed identity. The associated Azure Media Services must be in the same region as the Video Analyzer for Media account. 


Steps to Configure

This section explains the process of setting up ARM-based Video Analyzer for Media account in Azure. Below is the step-by-step procedure.


Login to Azure portal https://portal.azure.com


Search for Video Analyzer for Media. 


 


Click Create to start the process for creating a new Video Analyzer for Media service. 


In the Create a Video Analyzer for Media resource section enter required values. 


 


Name

Description 

Subscription 

Choose the subscription that you are using to create the Video Analyzer for Media account. 

Resource Group 

Choose a resource group where you are creating the Video Analyzer for Media account or select Create new to create a resource group. 

Video Analyzer for Media account 

Select Create a new account option. 

Resource name 

Enter the name of the new Video Analyzer for Media Account, the name can contain letters, numbers, and dashes with no space. 

Location 

Select the geographic region that will be used to deploy the Video Analyzer for Media account. The location matches the resource group location you chose, if you would like to change the selected location change the selected resource group or create a new one in the preferred location. Azure region in which Video Analyzer for Media is available 

Media Services account name 

Select a Media Services that the new Video Analyzer for Media account will use to process the videos. You can select an existing Media Services, or you can create a new one. The Media Services must be in the same location you selected. 

User-assigned managed identity 

Select a user-assigned managed identity that the new Video Analyzer for Media account will use to access the Media Services. You can select an existing user-assigned managed identity, or you can create a new one. The user-assignment managed identity will be assigned the role of Contributor role on the Media Services. 


Click Review + create at the bottom of the form. 


The following resources are created once the deployment is complete. 


 


Now go to https://www.videoindexer.ai and login with your Azure AD credentials. 


View the list of your Video Analyzer accounts (top right corner), and you should see the new account available in the list. 


 


Click on ‘Settings’ under the name of your Video Analyzer account and copy the Account Id to configure in VIDIZMO. 



 

Go to https://api-portal.videoindexer.ai/ and login with your Azure AD credentials. Click on ‘Profile’ (top right corner) to navigate to your user profile page and copy the primary or secondary Access Key. 


 

Open your VIDIZMO portal website and login with an Administrator or Manager user. Go to Portal Settings > Apps > Content Processing > on Azure Video Indexer, click on the gear button to open Azure Video Indexer settings. 



 

Enter your Media Analyzer Account Id and Access Key that you copied in above steps to allow VIDIZMO application connect your Media Analyzer account. Select the Region where your Azure resources are located and select the location of your Azure resources. Set the Indexing Present as needed, configure source and translation languages and Insights per requirements. Once you are satisfied with the configuration, click on ‘Save Changes’ to save your Video Analyzer configuration in VIDIZMO application.

Access Key 
Access key that you copied (above). 
Azure Region 
Azure region where your resources are located.
Location 
The location of Azure data center. 
Indexing Preset 
Define an AI bundle that you want to apply on your audio or video file. This option is used to configure the indexing process. You can specify the following settings:

Audio Only: Index and extract insights by using audio only (ignoring video).

Video Only: Index and extract insights by using video only (ignoring audio).

Default: Index and extract insights by using both audio and video.

Basic Audio: Index and extract insights by using audio only (ignoring video). Include only basic audio features (transcription, translation, formatting of output captions and subtitles). 
Source Content Language 
Select the source content language (can be single or multi-language source). 
Insights Translation 
Select the language translation for VIDIZMO to create the transcription accordingly. 
Insights 
Select all media insights which are needed for capture. 
Delete generated insights from the indexer
Enable this to delete the generated insights from Azure Indexer. 
Enable On-Demand Processing 
If checked, the Media will not undergo processing automatically.

 

Create new account via the Azure Government portal

To create a paid account via the Video Analyzer for Media portal: 


Log in with your Azure Government Azure AD account. 


If you do not have any Video Analyzer for Media accounts in Azure Government that you are an owner or a contributor to, you will get an empty experience from which you can start creating your account. 


On the top right corner, click ‘Create unlimited account’ to start the process for setting up new Video Analyzer for Media account. 


 


The rest of the flow is as described above, only the regions to select from will be Government regions in which Video Analyzer for Media is available. 


To obtain access key for Azure Government Video Analyzer for Media, go to https://api-portal.videoindexer.ai.azure.us/ and copy the primary or secondary key under your user profile. 


If you already are a contributor or an admin of an existing one or more Video Analyzer for Media account in Azure Government, you will be taken to that account and from there you can start a follow steps for creating an additional account if needed, as described above.
